PETA Educates College Students On Factory Farming

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ youth division, peta2, is on a countrywide college tour to educate academia on the cruelties of factory farming. Earlier this week, PETA set up a tent on Georgetown University’s main campus where an expositional film on factory farming called “Glass Walls” aired. Students could also go in a gestation crate to experience the cruel confinement that thousands of pregnant sows are forced to live in every day. To get them started on the plant-based path, students received veg starter kits filled with recipes and creative activist ideas. “College is the time to consider new ideas, and peta2’s factory-farm display gives students an idea of how much suffering goes into a chicken nugget or a beef burger,” says peta2 director Marta Holmberg.
